walk-a-thon-logo.jpgIt’s more than a WALK-A-THON; it’s a life changing event! Join in the fun with the Jasper County Habitat for Humanity, for the Habitat for Humanity 250. Walk 10-miles a week for 25 weeks to benefit families in need and provide housing for families here in Jasper County.

The Habitat for Humanity 250 walkathon fundraiser begins with laps around the Iowa Speedway at 9am on May 8th. Then keep track on-line of the miles you walk each week and automatically be entered into the weekly drawing for prizes. Prizes will also be awarded for the largest amounts raised at the end of the event. Return to the Iowa Speedway at the end of the 25-weeks to complete your mileage to the finish line on October 30th. You’ll help the Jasper County Habitat for Humanity and improve your health too. Skiff Medical Center will provide free body mass index and other testing at the beginning and end of the 25 week WALK-A-THON.

Registration forms are available at the Habitat office inside Integrity Cleaning & Restoration at 402 1st Ave East in Newton as well as businesses throughout Jasper County. If you have questions or wish to find out how you can get involved with Habitat home building projects, contact Project Manager Doug Garrett at 515-250-8857.
