One of those buildings is for a new company called American Distributors of Iowa, Inc., according to Tim Dunsbergen, owner of the company.

“This company will distribute vinyl windows and siding locally and statewide. It is targeting markets statewide with a focus on central and eastern Iowa. The majority of the business will be from home remodelers, but we will be able to supply local customers as well. It will bring new jobs to the community, potentially adding five to nine jobs. When we get up and running, we will have two to three people who will work in the office, a few delivery people, and a couple people working in the warehouse,” said Dunsbergen.

There are many benefits to building this new company in Sully. Two benefits are location and type of inventory.

“The location of the new company is next to the I-80 corridor and is a great half way point between the Des Moines market and Iowa City/Eastern Iowa market,” said Dunsbergen.

According to Dunsbergen, the company will be handling vinyl siding and all accessories, overhang material, as well as replacement and new construction vinyl windows. Down the road, he hopes to expand the product line. Also one of the products sold there is somewhat unique. The brochure shows the vinyl siding has a patented StakLoc® Top Locking System. This is a unique design that securely locks panels in place, withstands winds up to 200 mph, and helps keep seams and joints snug and uniform. According to Dunsbergen, the siding has a unique stacking method instead of the traditional installation.

The building project started in the middle of November and is expected to be finished sometime around April 1, 2009. The building will probably be built sooner than that, but the inventory won’t be in stock until spring due to the fact that sales are usually down during winter.

Dunsbergen hopes his company will have an advantage over its competition.

“This is a great opportunity to provide better products and better price against the competition,” he said.

In mid November 2008, Tim Dunsbergen began construction on his building on the west side of town. His business, American Distributors of Iowa, Inc., will begin distributing building materials, including siding and windows, next spring.
