The Lynnville-Sully High School basketball teams made the 2010-2011 season twice as nice for Hawk fans as both the girls and boys teams battled tough opponents as they travelled the road to state. Both teams qualified for state tournament games at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines for the second consecutive year.

The girls finished their season 20-5 after facing Ar-We-Va (22-4) in their opening state tournament game on Feb. 28 and losing 60-38 to the number-two seeded team.  The trip to state marked L-S Head Coach Jerry Hulsing's seventh time he's been at the helm when an L-S girls team has made it to state.

The 2010-11 girls basketball team shown are: Front row, Lyndsay Terpstra, Rachel Van Wyk, Cassie Cullen, Becca Vos, Jade Van Rees; middle row, Cierra Stafford, Sydney Brand, McKenzi Ritter, Aimee Rolffs, Brianna James, Abby Van Wyk; back row, head coach Jerry Hulsing, Taylor Van Wyk, Tara Van Rees, Caitlin Cross, Danielle Samson, and assistant coach Jeff Corbett.
