Last fall the City Council adopted a new animal protection and control ordinance.  This new ordinance requires pet owners to license their pets with the city. Pet licensing will assist the city when addressing citizen complaints involving pets and will make it easier for impounded pets to be returned to their owners.

All dogs, cats and ferrets over six (6) months of age kept within the city are required to be licensed by April 1st each year. Owners must provide proof of current rabies vaccination for each pet and also proof from a licensed veterinarian if the animal has been spayed or neutered.

Sully pet license fees: $10 for each intact animal or $8 if the animal has been spayed or neutered.  A surcharge of $5 will be added to the license fee of any dog, cat or ferret where the owner has 3 or more such animals.  A $10 penalty for each animal will be assessed on and after April 4, 2011.

Application forms are available on the city website (Download Application) and from the city office during normal business hours.
