The City of Sully, along with other cities in Jasper County, is participating in a process to complete a countywide hazard mitigation plan. Completion of a mitigation plan is required by the state in order for cities to be eligible for emergency and disaster funding. As part of that plan the City of Sully is asking for citizen input regarding hazards that might affect our community and steps that might reduce or eliminate future hazard or disaster damages.

Jim Sparks, Jasper County Emergency Management Coordinator, will speak to the City Council and to the public at 6:30 pm on March 14th in the council chambers.  Citizens are encouraged to come to hear more about the mitigation plan and to fill out a Mitigation Plan Survey.  Each survey that is completed by a citizen will count towards Sully’s matching time requirements for the countywide mitigation plan.

Your participation would be appreciated.
