county_fairThe Long Range Planning Committee of the Jasper County Fair Board will host a second Public Forum concerning the long range future of the Jasper County Fair on Tuesday April 12th at 7PM in the DMACC Auditorium.

We are asking for input from across the county and encourage you to bring information and ideas with you that evening. The committee will compile all of the comments and suggestions and take back to the board for review and consideration. We also are asking for any interested groups or parties that would like to join us at the fair each year and volunteer to help improve and showcase our county fair and its residents, to come to the meeting to learn more about what is in store for the future.

The Jasper County Fair has a rich heritage that dates back 150+ years here in the county. We are very proud of that history but we are challenged with the concept of continued living in a flood plain and finding a way to improve the conditions we have or looking for alternative sites for the next 150 years of the Jasper County Fair.

Our goal is to provide a fair for Jasper County well into the future that is educational, fun, safe, and economical for everyone involved.

The Jasper County Agricultural Society Foundation (501c.3) has been created to help us in our efforts to continue to provide the best fair event that Jasper County and central Iowa deserves. Information will also be available about the Foundation that night.

Please join us on April 12th at DMACC in Newton at 7PM as we continue to look into the future of the Jasper County Fair.
