LS welcomes new teachers this coming school year.

Mike Parkinson: Mike Parkinson will teach social studies and serve as the head varsity football coach at Lynnville-Sully Middle School next year.  Mike will replace John Kramer who recently accepted a teaching position in Pella.  Mike went to college at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa.  Mike has three years teaching experience at Woodward-Granger Middle School. He taught sixth grade World History, seventh grade Geography, eighth grade American History, and eleventh grade American History. Mike served as a member of Woodward-Granger Social Studies Iowa Core Alignment Team and group leader/chaperone for a student trip to Washington D.C.. Mike has also served as the assistant varsity football coach.  A graduate of Akron-Westfield High School, Mike was class valedictorian, student council president and class president, played the trumpet in band, and was an All-State quarterback on 2002 Class 1A State Champion football team.

Allison Kordick: Allison Kordick will teach science at Lynnville-Sully High School next year.  Allison will replace Susan Lyons who recently accepted a teaching position at Pella. She graduates from Drake University in May 2011  with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree. Allison earned teaching certifications in All Sciences (5-12); Middle School Social Studies (5-8.) She did her student teaching at Stilwell Junior High School in West Des Moines. She enjoys reading, cooking/baking ,horseback riding, watching sports (especially college basketball and football), and spending time with family. A graduate of West Liberty High School,  Allison was class valedictorian, involved in many student activities: FFA, SADD, volleyball, basketball, golf, track, student body secretary, student council president, and community volunteer.
