The City of Sully will be smoke testing the sanitary sewers in mid to late October to evaluate the condition of the sanitary sewer system.  The smoke that is introduced into the sanitary sewer should not enter homes or businesses unless a leak is present or unless there is no water in plumbing drain traps.  It is important that the traps in basement drains, and other seldom used drains, be filled with water to prevent smoke from entering.

If you detect odorless white smoke in your premises do not be alarmed but please call Shaun Needham at 641-521-9706 or call the city office at 594-3493.
