Alliant Energy has been working to find a more energy-efficient street lighting option for several years.  As technology has developed, the combined costs of LED lights have dropped, making them a viable alternative.  In January, Alliant Energy began replacing 100-watt arm mounted high pressure sodium (HPS) street lights with the new LED street lights in communities throughout the state.  However, the installation of LED street lights will only occur in street light fixtures requiring repair.  Alliant Energy expects to replace all of the selected HPS lights in 7-9 years.

If you see a street light that is not working, please submit a repair request by either filling out an online form at www.alliantenergy.com/streetlights or by calling 800-255-4268.
