The L-S wretlers grappled hard all season and peaked at just the right time to finish off a successful season by sending two Hawks to state. Highlights throughout the regular season included claiming a home triangular Dec. 11, placing second at a home tournament Dec. 15, and taking second at the Wayne duals tournament in Janaury. At the SiCL Conference Tournament at the end of January, five Hawks showed they were at the top of the conference by finishing third or higher. A huge accomplishment for the L-S wrestlers was finishing second at sectionals just a week later which allowed the five Hawks who placed either first or secont to advance to districts and the team as a whole to qualify for the regional duals for the second time in three years. At the regional duals, the Hawks fell to No. 9 West Marshall. At districts, juniors Caden Doll (160) and

Meliek Meyer (152) placed first and second respectively to advance for the second time each to the state individual tournament. The state meet was a bittersweet event for the Hawks as Meyer (in left photo below) went 0-2 and Doll (in right photo below) went 1-1 after losing by injury forfeit in the quarterfinal round. But both will be able to take another stab at state next year during their final high school season. The Hawks will graduate five seniors: Malen Meyer, Jamison Goodyk, Austin Newell, Levi Bennington, and Shane Thompson.
