A 1957 red Bel Air Chevrolet received the most kernel votes at the Sully Night Out Cruizin' the SquareonSaturday evening, Aug. 23, 2014, with a large crowd in attendance. It won by one vote, 142-141. The classic Chevy car is owned by Jim and Marcia Parker (shown at right) of Grinnell. And the close second-place finisher? The people who invited the Parkers to the Sully event, Dean and Betty Van Kooten of Kellogg with their rare 1971 Mach 1 red Ford Mustang!

The fun-filled evening featured classic cars, a go-cart obstacle course for children, food by the Sully Lions Club (shown below at bottom left), DJ music, and delicious pie served by members of the Lynnville-Sully Speech Team. Below at bottom right, Parker Van Wyk watches Max Morvant drive the go-cart by turning right to go left and vice versa. Ty James is the "engine power" pushing around the go-cart obstacle course sponsored for kid fun by FastTrax Sports of Sully.

Winners of the $50 Sully Bucks drawings were Caroline Jaennette of Sully and Cliff Vos of Reasnor (photo below left). Attendees each received five kernels of corn to vote for their favorite vehicle on display (photo below right).
