Lynnville-Sully High School's Josh Dunsbergen, freshman at 106 pounds, qualified for ths 2015 Class 1A State Wrestling Tournament. The first-time state qualifier was the only one among five L-S grapplers to advance from the Class 1A District 4 event in Pleasantville on Feb. 14. He qualifed at 106 ounds after placing second in his division. He beat North Mahaska's Tyler Strasser by a 4-2 decision and then fell to West Marshall's Hunter Pfantz by a 16-9 decision. 

In the opening round of Class 1A state wrestling on Feb. 19, Dunsbergen drew the fourth-ranked wresler at 106 pounds, Blake Bauer of Southeast Warren (shown in accompanying Randy Taylor Photo with Dunsbergen). Dunsbergen wrestled hard but fell 15-1 in the opening round. In the wrestleback, Dunsbergen faced Cody Fisher of South Winneshiek, losing 14-2. 

The young wrestler has three more seasons to  reach the state meet, and hopefully, on the podium.
