On City Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, only nine percent of the city’s 629 registered voters went to the polls, casting 59 ballots. Incumbent Sully Mayor Brent Vander Molen received 48 votes against nine write-ins. Incumbent councilmember Jeff Brummel was unopposed for reelection and got 52 votes. Incumbents Brad Rozendaal and Chad Fiske were the top write-ins for the remaining two council seats. Rozendaal got nine of 35 write-ins for a full term, while Fikse collected nine of 32 write-ins to fill a currently vacant seat for two years.

Those elected by write-in have 10 days after the Nov. 10 canvass to resign the position elected to in writing, which will be by 5 p.m. on Nov. 20.
